Employees hired for this position must be able to perform the essential function of this job without imposing significant risk of substantial harm to the health or safety of themselves or others) :Operates computer based inventory system; processes receipts, issues, correction functions, and charges.Orders stock replacement; places orders and expediting in appropriate time frames, if assigned or, as instructed.Reconciles patient charges in a timely manner.Generates required daily, monthly and monitoring reports and maintains their files.Prepares documents for inventories, excess stock analysis and maintains the appropriate files.Ensures that par locations are not over stocked; works toward an inventory turn of “10”, so that all materials in specific clinical floor par areas turn product at a target rate of twice per month.Ensures that par locations in specific clinical par areas, consistently maintain a 99.9 % fill rate.Work toward acquiring a full knowledge base that appropriately matches the line item descriptions of the entire general stores inventory description listing.

Develop vocabulary consistent with industry terminology used by nurses, and other professional staff in the healthcare industry.Work toward acquiring a reasonable understanding of general applications of material supply items, supplied by general stores.Maintain clinical par areas by delivering supply materials from general stores.Performs other department related duties as assigned.The following job accountabilities are not unique to this particular job but are common to all jobs at VPH:Complies with VPH policies and procedures on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
