DESCRIPTION
Michael Baker International is seeking a SDET Engineer to join our Public Safety team to help grow our test automation efforts and alongside our product team develop, test, and deliver top notch applications. This is an opportunity to work within a dynamic and growing industry, and with one of the leading NG9-1-1 GIS solutions and services firms. We are building a technical-minded and collaborative team of people who desire being part of a dynamic unit delivering Public Safety solutions for local governments.

The SDET Engineer will develop code to automate testing and works in close collaboration with the product team to support the administration and development of our DATAMARK Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions and infrastructure. DATAMARK designs and builds cloud-native applications that provide mapping and analysis functions to meet the needs of our clients within the 9-1-1 and Public Safety markets. 

The successful candidate will have the ability to work remotely.

Essential Job Functions
The SDET Engineer develops and design software testing methodologies, performs automation testing, prepares reports, and documents testing results.

  • Analyze product requirements and develop test automation solutions by using programming languages Java, JavaScript and Python for unit, functional, regression and performance testing
  • Continual evaluation of test cases for regression testing, automation for newly integrated features, and development of toolsets to augment Quality Assurance
  • Integrate automated test to CI/CD pipeline and improve code coverage
  • Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues 
  • Perform manual and automated workflow testing in different environments
  • Provide objective feedback to product manager and software development team
  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements
  • Work collaboratively with developers, chief architect, product analysts, and product manager
  • Support and contribute to user acceptance testing strategies for all major releases
  • Perform testing on web mapping tools and functionalities 

    PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience working in an agile software development environment. 
  • 2+ years of experience in software development
  • Experience with testing tools like JMeter, Capybara/Selenium, Cucumber, etc.
  • Experience with testing mobile products in device farms using automated frameworks.

  • Experience with AWS
  • GIS experience
