Employment Status:Full Time (72-80 Hours Per Pay Period)Job Category:NursingJOB SUMMARY:The Clinical Nurse Manager is accountable for the day-to-day management of the area(s) assigned.

S/he will strive to achieve the optimal patient experience in a cost-effective manner,while applying evidenced-based leadership and practice.

The Clinical Manager is responsible for the provision of safe patient care, in a manner that is consistent with the professional standards and hospital policies.

S/he will role model performance and behaviors that are consistent with the values of the organization, furthering its mission, vision and strategic plan.EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum three (3) years of acute care clinical nursing experience, including minimum of one (1) year of management/supervisory experienceEDUCATION:Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Nursing (BSN) or other health-care related fieldMasters Degree in Nursing (MSN) or other health-care related fieldLICENSURES/CERTIFICATION:Current licensure with the California Board of Registered NursingMust successfully complete and maintain BLS certificationMust successfully complete and maintain LA City Fire Card certification at the time of hire or within the first 30 days of employmentUnit-specific departmental certification(s)DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ( These are the essential job functions for this position.

patient falls, Hospital Acquired Pressure Ulcers, avoidable events, etc.) and implements strategies for improving outcomes; Oversees the day-to-day management, throughput, and supervisionof staff in of area(s) of accountability; Participates on selectedhospital committees, councils and task forces; Pursues professional growth by sharing knowledge, authoring publications, attending and authoring scholarly presentations, or being involved in professional organization; Promotes the mission, vision, and values of the nursing profession and the organization; Serves as a teacher, facilitator, change agent, and clinical leader; Supervises staffing, scheduling and call to meet patient needs and promote efficiency in a cost-effective manner; Performs other related duties as assigned or requestedThe following job accountabilities are not unique to this particular job but are common to all jobs at VPH:Complies with VPH policies and procedures on customer satisfaction and service excellence.
