Requirements

  • Experience: 6-8 years of Staff Accounting experience in Accounting and/or Finance
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related major
  • Computer Skills: Advanced level Excel skills, including pivot tables and Macros. Experience with ERP (Microsoft Dynamics) is a plus.

Job Description

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in the Finance and Accounting department, with a focus on improving the overall rigor of the Company’s financial statements by ensuring correct expense classifications, reconciling monthly balance sheet accounts, and closely adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) accounting standards. This role will be working collaboratively within the accounting/finance department as well as with other departments in the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct expense classifications and reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts. 
  • Assist with the month end, quarter end, and year end close processes to ensure the Accounting department meets close and reporting deadlines   
  • Partner with the Accounts Payable team to ensure invoices are coded to the correct GL accounts.
  • Analyze expenses and assign the correct cost center.
  • Meet regularly with department heads to review their financials and analyze expenses and variances.
  • Play an integral role in the annual budgeting process.
  • Work in state license and tax filings and support the department with various projects.

  • Understand GAAP Compliance and Industry benchmarks.
  • Attention to detail; demonstrate passion for accuracy in both minor and significant workstreams
  • Consistently meet deadlines, manage projects and initiatives to completion
  • Organization; ability to prioritize tasks and meet simultaneous deadlines
  • Effective written and verbal communication, ability to present data concisely
  • Partner collaboratively and build relationships with other departments
  • Knowledge of tax filings and compliance returns
