About Training Grounds (TG)

Built on four core pillars of learning, passion, excellence, and trust, Training Grounds is Cloud9s youth development initiative that brings together children ages 11 and up for a unique online sports experience.

Training Grounds participants hone their skills as players while they grow as individuals through real-life skills and applications.

TGs teaching philosophy is built off industry-leading techniques and tools utilized in Cloud9s current professional esports team environment and from best practices of other youth sports camps.

Campers participate in competitive play experience and receive world-class coaching within a safely-moderated, fun, and educational community.

What Were Looking For:

Cloud9 is looking for an experienced Lead Curriculum Designer (contract).

You will be responsible for managing the development of best-in-class esports youth development content that is pro-sponsored, research based, and field tested.

You are highly collaborative and approach every challenge with a beginners mindset.

You will leverage the expertise of TG staff, including the Executive Director, Camp Director, Head of Coaching, and our partners to build out the scope and sequence of content and learning experiences we plan to deliver current and future customers, which includes coaches and youth participants.

You deeply understand the integral relationship that coaching, content, and students play in driving learning and growth.

You bring a research mindset to the role and are in constant search of new insights and methodologies that can accelerate the learning, social-emotional development, and gaming performance of our customers.

You can take these insights and methodologies and translate them into digestible learning experiences that our coaches can easily deliver, and our students consistently apply in their game play.

What Youll Do:

* Gather content requirements and feedback on current content from TG leadership team (ED, Camp Director, Head of Coaching), our partners, and customer champions
* Develop a curriculum scope and sequence and content development roadmap for launching new content-dependent market offerings
* Set the research-based design standards and structures for all TG learning content
* Manage internal and external vendors in developing all training course content for both online and offline applications
* Create a process for testing and evaluating the efficacy of our curriculum on gaming performance, social-emotional development, teamwork, collaboration, etc

Requirements

* This is a contract role with an option for contract extension or full time conversion at the end of the assignment
* Bachelors Degree; Degree in Education, Design, or another applicable field preferred
* 3+ years experience developing online curriculum, teaching, running camps or coaching
* Experience with learning management system (LMS) set up and administration
* Clear point of view on how to develop and deliver content to maximize student learning
* Ability to manage multiple projects at once
* Strong interest in working with and developing others
* Passion for esports/video games and/or has worked in the esports/video game industry
* Passion for youth development
