Boeing Defense & Space (BDS) is currently looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join the Production Engineering team located in El Segundo, CA .
Position Responsibilities:
Assist in the development and implementation of production and tooling methodologies.
Participate as a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the integration of technical solutions.
Lead the execution of a robust manufacturing readiness review process.
Develop key process indicators to measure manufacturing readiness review effectiveness.
Implement operating system for manufacturing readiness reviews, which includes roles/responsibilities across various functions.
Revise manufacturing readiness review command media based on lessons learned
Conduct hardware and build planning reviews as needed.
Resolve technical problems and assists in the implementation of new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
Assist in the implementation of Lean principles and process control.
Interface with professional associations, suppliers, IPTs and internal customers to develop robust manufacturing processes.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R.
§ 120.15 is required.
US Person includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.
5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
More than 5 years of experience working with surface mount technology manufacturing processes.
7+ years of experience working with space electronics or aerospace flight hardware
7+ years of experience using ERP/MRP to develop and release of work instructions and non-conformance dispositions
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g.
PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
