Maritime Undersea (MU) is a growing business focused on delivering complex solutions from seabed to space.

We are seeking strong Mechanical Design Engineers in Huntington Beach, CA to join our team Mechanical and Production Engineering Teams!

As a Mechanical Engineering Designer, Level 2 in Maritime Undersea, you will have the opportunity to support the development and delivery of highly complex mechanical systems/hardware that includes primary structures, mechanisms,electronic packaging, and wires/cables.

We are seeking engineers with working level knowledge of design principles, and computer aided design (CAD) tools, who are proactively motivated to expand their knowledge on design concepts and techniques, design validation best practices, drawing release process, mechanical components and subsystems, material properties, and application of all the above in a fabrication and test environment.

As a key member of our Design Team, you will have the opportunity to work in both the development and production phases of one or more programs within MU.

Strong communication skills and proactive engagement to learn analysis for design repairs, material review board processes, and root cause corrective action methods will help you succeed in this position.

This role has the potential to lead to a Material Review Board (MRB) certification through on the job and formal training.

Position Responsibilities:Supports the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment.

Supports the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers.

Performs detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations.Performs spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems.

Assists in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems.

Assists in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts.

Works under general supervision.

This position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret U.S.

Security Clearance post startfor which the U.S.

Government requires U.S.

Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):Bachelor’s degree or higher inMechanical orAerospace Engineering or related technical field2+ years of Design Engineering Work Experience2+ years experience with 3D Modelling Tools (CAD) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):2+ years working in Mechanical Engineering related technical fieldAn interest in developing Undersea Products and learning more about the unique analysis considerations for these unique environmentsExperience with static strength analysisKnowledge of Boeing design principles to assess and resolve product/process issues through the product lifecycleExperience developing non-destructive test procedures, tools and standardsStrong communication skills Experience with production and fabrication support (Material Review Board (MRB), Non-Conformance (NCR) disposition, Supplier Information Requests (SIR)Available to support non-standard work hours and potential over-time when required to support factory and test needs Typical Education & Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.

Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.

Master).

In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
