Steiny and Company is seeking candidates experienced in electrical construction for the role of senior estimator in their Los Angeles office.Job Duties• Responsible for developing the cost estimates for electrical construction of commercial projects including transit, buildings and light industrial• Analyzes plans and specifications, perform quantity take offs and calculates the materials, equipment and labor costs of construction using computer-based estimating system.• Solicits and reviews quotations from subcontractors and suppliers for scope of work coverage, exclusions and terms and conditions• Accurately estimates the direct and indirect costs of work that occurs in the field• Prepares scope letters and bid documents.• Prepares and maintains historical cost data• Manages, oversees and mentors junior estimators and take-off personnel• Coordinates transition into construction with project manager• Assists project personnel with the preparation of change order pricingRequirements• Knowledge of electrical construction and estimating techniques• Knowledge of Southern California marketplace• Experience estimating for a union shop• Experience estimating projects valued up to $75 million for both public and private owners• Design-Build project experience• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite• ConEst experience is preferred• CAD experience is preferred• 10+ years estimating experienceJob Type: Full-timeExperience:• Construction Estimating: 10 years (Required)
