Specific activities may change from time to time.Essential Function:Sales Agent will be responsible for marketing new personal lines insurance policies to our clients and prospects under the supervision of the Account Executive (AE) and Management and in accordance with company procedures. Duties include but are not limited to:• Interaction with clients & underwriters, alone or in conjunction with the Account Executive (AE).• Some servicing of existing book of business according to highest levels of industry standards. Maintain complete and proper documentation & create triggers for follow ups.• Update policy records in agency management system (AMS 360).• Monitor PL expiration lists and manage renewals and round-out accounts by contacting clients.• Collect and prepare renewal information such as loss-runs, Acord applications and quote on FSC and submit to multiple carriers and or online quotation systems.• Conduct marketing under the supervision of AE(s) and management.• Develop a strong knowledge of Agency services in order to address and meet client’s objectives.• Develop and coordinate the execution of renewal timelines.• Prepare and deliver renewal and new business quotes and presentations (oral and written) within proper time frames.• Gather and analyze exposure and loss information.• Issue binders, certificates, endorsements, and notify insureds of advisories and notices from carriers.• Responsible for invoicing and preparing financing agreements.• Process payments by check or credit card or electronically. Prepare schedules of insurance. File claim reports online or telephonic and perform follow-ups.• Make daily and regular follow up calls to clients to ascertain client satisfaction.• Be sales oriented and cross-sell and upgrade coverages on existing book of business.• Obtain life, group, and personal lines referrals on new business and renewals for distribution to other departments.• Be willing to assist team members and other departments.• Due to changing business conditions and or needs, management may assign additional duties or functions to this position and cross train in other lines of business.Essential Requirements:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Associate’s degree or better or equivalent education in a business-related field and related training/experience.• Strong PL insurance knowledge (PLCS, API,CIC) or equivalent certification is preferred.• Excellent communication skills (one on one presentation, telephone as well as written).• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with PL coverages required.• Current fire and casualty insurance license or the ability to obtain within 30 days.• Excellent customer service and conservation skills, with the ability to develop sound relationships with clients and underwriters and managers.• Strong knowledge of Mercury First, FSC, and multiple carrier online quoting systems.• Bilingual Spanish is preferred.• Good analytical skills for identifying customers’ coverage needs.• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft© products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).• Strong knowledge of technology and the initiative to propose innovative advancements in work process.• Stay abreast of trends in insurance industry and pursue continuing education.• Ability to work successfully in a deadline driven environment.• Strong project management and organizational skills.• Ability to effectively interact with underwriters and clients.
