Find your future with us.Boeing is seeking a Senior Certification and Airworthiness Engineer to join the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Regulatory Administration team located in Long Beach, California or Seal Beach, California.
This exciting position would support the BCA post-production fleet for all Boeing and Heritage McDonald Douglas airplanes in operation by airlines.
We are seeking individuals with experience in airline operations, quality, regulatory and airworthiness (CFR 39, 91, 119, 121, 43, and 145).
The ideal candidate would provide timely guidance, consultation, and dispositioning of regulatory related matters originating either within the Boeing Customer Support Organization or from operators and repair stations.
This includes addressing and reconciling regulatory related questions from operators, the FAA, International regulators, and supporting Alternative Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) application.
Position Responsibilities:Evaluate customer and /operational regulatory requirements, and provide regulatory support through the Customer Support organizationPrepares and ensures Airworthiness Directive (AD) AMOC submittal complies with the FAA Order requirementsProvide subject matter expertise support on operational certification requirements to internal and external stakeholders in support of airline customersSupports compliance to the Airplane Certification regulations (CFR 21, 25, 26, 36) and Boeing Procedures Manual (ODA BPM)Maintains open communication paths with the FAA, Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) unit, and The Boeing CompanySeeks solutions for complex regulatory situations that meet operator, Boeing and regulatory agency requirements in the most beneficial manner for all partiesCultivates a positive relationship with the FAA and communicates proposed solutions and their compliance methods This position may allow some telecommuting.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry10+ years of experience with engineering and/or regulatory certification5+ years of experience in operating requirements, airworthiness, and airline regulatory compliance activities Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience in compliance activities for Transport Category airplane fleet authorizations, certification (product, appliance, alteration, or STC), operations, and continued airworthinessExperience with Repair Stations (MRO), airworthiness approval tags and working with the FAA, particularly the Flight Standard organization and its inspectorsExperience managing multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced environmentExperience as the prime contact on activities requiring coordination between organizations, and the regulatory (FAA International Field Office and/or International CAA) Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.
Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.
PhD+4 years’ related work experience, Master+7 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
