As a Machine Operator at Dakota Growers Pasta Co., you would run high speed automated packaging equipment and manage all aspects of the packaging line from scale to Palletizer.
This role verifies usage of correct packaging materials & date codes, monitors the function of case sealers, and is responsible for ensuring that our products are packaged according to quality and safety standards.Duties and Responsibilities: Operates packaging equipment according to product specifications and ensuring accuracy in weights and codes.
Adjusts machines as required Maintains proper documentation of downtime and repairs.
Performs minor repairs and routine maintenance work on equipment Continually checks the quality of the product, packaging, and case printing according to standard operating procedures and policies.
Responsible for reporting any issues or concerns to Packaging Supervisor, as needed Inspects and conducts regular deep cleaning of equipment after each product change.
Maintains cleanliness of equipment at all times Operates in accordance with health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices, and standard operating procedures Partner with company leadership to proactively identify and execute on continuous improvement opportunities in the areas of: safety, food safety, quality, productivity, and sanitation Other duties, as assignedEducation and Experience Required: Must be able to work weekends, holidays and overtime as neededPreferred Education, Experience, and Skills: High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution Previous experience operating machines Previous experience in a food manufacturing facilityPhysical Requirements: Qualified candidates must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation: Must be able to balance, stand, walk, and work in high heat/humidity for 8 hours per shift Must be able to perform simple grasping for 8 hours per shift Must be able to lift up-to 34 pounds for 8 hours per shift Must be able to bend, crouch, stoop, and work in a dusty environment for 6 hours per shift Must be able to push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6 hours per shift Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds for 6 hours per shift Must be able to kneel, sit, reach above shoulders, and climb/work off ladder for 3 hours per shift Must be able to operate foot pedals for 3 hours per shift Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, distinguish objects and equipment visually, and express or exchange ideas by spoken or written word
