Clinical Lab Scientist, Immunogenetics (Day Shift)

Responsibilities
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking to hire a Clinical Laboratory Scientist to join their Immunogenetics Laboratory.

In this key position, you will perform a wide variety of technical procedures within the Immunogenetics discipline.

Your primary duties will include specimen processing; cell culture, method development, modification and parallel testing; preparation of abstracts/manuscripts; maintaining and repairing laboratory instruments; performing quality control and calibration; sample processing; reagent preparation; and data entry.
Note: incumbent must be able to work weekends, holidays and other shifts as needed.

Qualifications
A current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
Experience and background in Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) and blood bank, preferred
Background in molecular methods, reference ranges, test methodologies, instrument operation/maintenance as well as CAP and other regulatory requirements
Knowledge of relevant disease states in order to communicate significance of test results
Ability to perform testing, documentation, interpretation, and report preparation for ongoing R&D and method development projects
Must be a strong team player
