NOTE: Cinedigm is currently a 100% work-from-home company. While we may return to an office environment in the future, we do not have plans to return to an office setting until after Q3 of calendar year 2021. When we return to an office environment, this position will be based in Los Angeles, and the incumbent will be required to work from the office on a part or full-time basis, as needed. The Director, FP&A will provide analysis and reporting, by channels and accounts, and identify potential opportunities in support of business results. This role will be responsible for leading the assessment of business performance, including risks and opportunities, as well as recommending actions to identify value creation opportunities and improve business outcomes across all divisions. The Director, FP&A will provide insightful strategic, financial, and qualitative analyses to executive management in order to drive growth, efficiencies, and increases to financial leverage for deal structures and negotiations.

Key Duties:

  • Drive the core financial processes for the business including the Annual Operating Plan (Budgets) and Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews for all divisions.
  • Create and distribute monthly and annual reports for revenues, costs, and variance analysis across the organization, pinpointing and explaining the reason behind specific costs as well as in aggregate.
  • Track timely calculation and distribution of quarterly commission goals.
  • Track sales performance to budget/forecast goals, providing insightful updates to the Executive Management team that will facilitate decisions on future goals.
  • Track and analyze trends for physical, digital, and linear, including YOY for the industry versus CIDM’s performance, initiating ideas to make a significant impact to both the top and bottom lines.
  • Provide various departments with P&L review and competitor comparison of performance to industry using sell-thru data.
  • Provide post-mortems for various departments on tentpole titles, promotional activity via lift analysis, gap analysis, regressions, correlations, probability modeling, and YOY comparisons.
  • Return Reserve Risk Analysis for One-Off titles/Co-Pros/Deals without Guaranteed Product Pipeline.
  • 3rd party data liaison – create and analyze monthly digital reporting to identify partner issues and manage agreements and invoices for subscription services.
  • Facilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business managers to ensure effective finance and cost management.
  • Develop financial reporting, ad-hoc project analyses, and financial modeling to support business.
  • Partner with the accounting team to complete the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
  • Complete complex business modeling and analysis to drive revenue growth, identify operating improvements, deep dive on cost structures, and analyze business opportunities/investments (ROI/NPV).
  • Prepare various reports and other deliverables.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with practical experience in budgeting and forecasting a plus.
  • Advanced Excel skills to include modeling, scenario planning, and experience and understanding of writing macros.
  • Deep experience in creating and driving the annual corporate budgeting process in complex organizations is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to create processes and develop custom planning and forecasting tools to ensure timely delivery of forecasts, monthly reviews, yearly planning, etc.
  • Ability to understand all departmental roles and how they work together, in order to provide analytical support to various areas of the company.
  • Ability to work independently, without direct guidance, but equally able to adapt to a team environment.
  • Ability to consider and focus on details in analytics but must be able to communicate/present findings concisely.
  • Manage and prioritize workload from multiple departments and requestors.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Foundational understanding of Entertainment Distribution processes.
  • Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, mathematics or related field required.
  • MBA, CPA or CFA preferred.
