Recruiter

Responsibilities:Source, interview, and recommend qualified candidates to fill permanent and temporary positions in a timely and cost-effective manner; assess candidate qualifications based on behavioral interviews, job requirements, and pre-employment testing resultsDraft and coordinate job postings, select appropriate testing, review qualifications and ensure consistency across departments and positionsPartner with Hiring Managers to understand departmental needs and proper qualifications of candidates; screen and provide a pipeline of quality candidates for selectionEnsure adherence to CBA policies and procedures relating to internal promotions and transfersSchedule interviews, conduct background checks, extend verbal/written job offers, and properly set up new hire information for various systemsRecord all recruitment and hiring activity in Applicant Tracking System for information retention and reportsHandle new hire paperwork processing, verifying proper completion of forms, ensure acceptable documents and identification are provided; follow up with new hires regarding missing documents and/or forms as neededProvide regular updates on position status to Hiring Managers, agencies, and job candidates; schedule interviews, conduct background checks, and extend verbal/written job offersAttend offsite job fairs and on-campus recruitment events; research and utilize different recruitment sources; make recommendations to improve hiring processPerform additional duties and projects as directed by managementQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in human resources, Business Administration, or relevant major requiredMinimum two (2) years recruiting experience to include sourcing, interviewing, and assessing job applicants required; experience recruiting temporary and seasonal positions highly preferredDemonstrated knowledge of behavioral interviewing techniques and effective sourcing strategiesBasic skill level in Microsoft Word and Excel requiredPrior experience working in a Human Resources department, experience working in a Union environment a preferredAbility to develop and cultivate effective working relationships with all levels of staff, Hiring Managers, and outside vendors i.e.

Search Firms, and temporary agenciesExperience working with applicant tracking systems (i.e Taleo) highly preferredProfessional appearance and excellent oral/written communication skills a must to accurately and professionally communicate with management, applicants, and employeesGood critical thinking capabilities; ability to perform complex analysis and identify trendsAbility to meet tight deadlines and handle competing priorities
