Find your future with us.The Boeing Research & Technology organizationis seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer based out of Long Beach, California, El Segundo, California, Mesa, Arizona, Plano, Texas or Hazelwood, Missouri.
This candidate will work with senior system engineers and architects to develop system engineering life cycle products for complex avionics hardware such as computers and network switches.
The candidate is expected to leverage Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods to support functional decomposition, architecture development and hardware and software requirement development.
This assignment provides a unique opportunity to participate in the complete development life cycle of an avionics product from receipt of requirements through qualification/certification and fielding.
Position Responsibilities:Coordinates with airplane level subsystem engineers and box level hardware and software engineers to develop MBSE products (architecture diagrams, use cases, etc.) that will be used to validate requirements, and support hardware and software architecture design decisionsDevelops component level software and hardware requirements and define verification strategies This position allows some telecommuting.
The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S.
Security Clearance for which the U.S.
Government requires U.S.
Citizenship.
An interim and/or final U.S.
Secret clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with MBSE tools such as CameoStrong verbal and written communication skills Typical Education/Experience:Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.G.
Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.G.
PhD, Master+3 years’ related work experience).
In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
