Job Description:
Do you devour travel magazines and fall asleep reading travel content online?
When you see something in your “regular” life, do you think, “that would be a great story for T&L!” Do you relish presenting your big ideas to clients and convincing them that your strategy is the right one to help them rebuild tourism?
Do you know enough about digital marketing and digital influencers to be dangerous?
How about marketing to the travel trade – tour operators, travel advisors, meeting planners?
Does that excite you?
Do you have a handle on managing revenue, expenses and profit?
Then this job is for you!
This Tourism AM will lead media relations and marketing initiatives for travel destinations.
If you have experience in leading accounts but still love pitching, have an eye for detail and are passionate about travel then this job is for you.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience.
Qualifications
5-7 years of PR experience required
Agency experience preferred
Strong, creative, AP-style writing an absolute must
Ability to “spot” a story angle
Established lifestyle and travel media contacts in the U.S.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to pitch stories over the phone or over email
Strong presentation skills and confidence in making public presentations before both a live and virtual audience
Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
Impeccable organization; Microsoft Office proficiency
Ability to juggle the needs of multiple clients
Thrive in a fast-paced working environment
Driver’s license required
