Graphic Designer

Crooked believes that we need a better conversation about politics, culture, and the world around us—one that doesn’t just focus on what’s broken, but what we can do to fix it.

We are a media network that showcases stories, voices, and opportunities for activism that inform, entertain, and inspire action, because it’s up to all of us to do our part to build a better world.

We’re growing fast and want to hear from forward-thinkers who aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo – bonus points if you’re dog-friendly.

Check out this available opportunity:

Graphic Designer
– Rapid Response

Crooked is looking for a full time graphic designer to help our team translate political campaigns, information, and calls to action into compelling and fun visuals.

You’ll discuss the day’s news with our team of political experts and turnaround graphics across Crooked’s social channels for short-term coverage and long-term campaigns.

Crooked is moving towards a hybrid work model for our entire staff.

Ideally looking for Los Angeles based candidates, or candidates willing to relocate within the first 3 months of accepting an offer.

How You’ll Spend Your Time :
Translate info from politics meetings into social graphics for Vote Save America and Crooked Media’s social channels.

Visualize data, create Calls to Action and event announcements.

Help get an engaging message out to our audience and beyond!
Respond quickly to the day’s news.

Things move quickly which requires a nimble response, knowledge of politics and messaging is beneficial.
Utilize existing formats and create new ones.

Identify when a message can reach our audience most effectively through an existing template, and recommend new formats when impactful opportunities arise.
Conduct competitive landscape research.

See what others are doing in the space to help define our best practices (what to do, and not to do).

Keep an eye on emerging platforms, be curious about how effective messaging moves through the internet.
Collaborate with other teams and experts.

Find opportunities to work with our motion designers to animate a concept, or gain insights from someone who has lived in a swing state.
Work within our style guides, and deviate when necessary.

We want to be consistent in the market but sometimes we need to bend to make an impact.
What You’ll Bring To The Table :
3-6 years of professional design experience
A passion for politics and the ability to translate the news into visuals
An eye for composition, the ability to use type, great taste and an awareness of trends and styles
The ability to visualize data / work with infographics
An interest in social media and new platforms
Able to use the Adobe Creative suite at a professional level
Motion graphic and video editing skills are a plus
