This short-term temporary-to-full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Los Angeles, California.

Key responsibilities

– Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

– Carefully filing documents to preserve historical records

– Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet and statements regarding income and cash flows

– Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time

– Preparing depreciation schedules by tracking fixed assets

– Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

– Studying and implementing federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and communicating with management on needed actions

– Overseeing work of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

Requirements

– High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

– Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work

– 2+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

– Ability to work independently with minimal oversight

– General familiarity with Payroll Functions

– Comprehensive knowledge of full charge bookkeeping

– Previous experience working with debits

– Good understanding of Microsoft Excel

– Full charge bookkeeping experience required

– Experience with Local Payroll Tax

– Experience with month end closings

– Deep understanding of bookkeeping

– Process Bi-weekly Payroll experience highly preferred

– Demonstrated knowledge of payroll for under 100 employees

– Earlier work involving Microsoft Excel

– Adeptness in payroll and 1099’s

– Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations

– Comprehension of Accounts Payable (AP)

– Practical knowledge of Payroll Tax

– Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly valued

– Background working with Excel Formulas

– Foundational knowledge in Bookkeeping Functions

– Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures

– Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting

– Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner

– Experience with payroll preferred

– Strong organization skills

– Proficiency with Quickbooks and Peachtree

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,500.00 – $41,600.00 per year
