Flexo Ink Chemist

ABOUT THE JOB

This individual is responsible for generating new business and ensuring growth of existing accounts by developing and testing new products and modifying existing water based flexo products for the Narrow Web Market.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Testing new products for reliability and application.

Planning and conducting evaluations for manufactured products.

Planning and conducting customer/vendor evaluations.

Assisting in the development of new products.

Recommending and executing modifications to existing products.

Assisting customers with ink application problems. This may entail traveling to the customer’s site for hands on assistance.

Assisting with other duties as directed by supervisor.

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED

Background in printing industry

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field or equivalent experience in water based flexo ink development or application preferred.

3-5 years minimum experience working in a flexo/narrow web application arena.

Previous experience in applications/operating, including color matching, QC, blending, or technical service.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.

Self-driven, results oriented with a clear focus on high quality results.

Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision.

Ability to perform job according to pre-established safety, quality, and efficiency standard operating procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Perform laboratory analytical testing and documentation
  • Perform analytical testing on plant production samples
  • Perform wet chemistry tests on samples
  • Performing analytical test method validation activities for quality control methods
  • Participate in troubleshooting of analytical test methods and laboratory instruments
  • Conduct experiments using wet chemistry
  • Perform testing to support analytical method development, validation and routine testing including stability testing
  • Support analytical method development, validation, and routine testing including stability testing
  • Assist in analytical method development/validation/transfer
  • Perform routine analytical testing on raw materials, finished goods, stability and other samples
  • Running laboratory analysis on raw materials, in-process samples and final products
  • Develop analytical methods for new ingredients
  • Perform analysis of raw materials, in-process and finished products using analytical instruments and established analytical procedures and techniques
  • Collect samples, prepare chemical reagents and analytical standards
  • Perform physical and chemical testing of bulk, finished product and stability samples using laboratory test procedures
  • Perform routine laboratory analysis, such as finished product testing, dissolution testing, stability testing, raw material testing, cleaning verification testing and manufacturing in-process testing
  • Conduct routine laboratory analyzes such as finished product testing, stability testing, raw material testing, cleaning verification testing and manufacturing in-process testing
  • Developing and documenting analytical methods
  • Operate analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, UV, FTIR
  • Operate, and maintains laboratory analytical equipment
